Columbia's compressed alternative to the two-year policy degree: an intensive twelve months from late May to May, three semesters instead of four, run jointly by SIPA and the Climate School's Earth Institute faculty. Curriculum modules
Summer core science — Ecology, urban ecology, climatology, hydrology, environmental chemistry, risk and toxicology, earth systems and policy, analytics.
Fall and spring policy core — Microeconomics and policy analysis I-II, quantitative techniques and systems analysis, sustainability management, financial management, electives.
Workshop in Applied Earth Systems Management I-III — Client-based workshop running through all three terms.
