SFU's REM school has trained British Columbia's resource managers since the 1970s: a six-semester degree offered as a course-based stream (11 courses plus a research project, minimum 57 units) or a thesis stream (7 courses plus thesis, 47 units), with an optional co-op that puts students inside BC's resource agencies and firms before they graduate — fisheries, forests and energy are the school's home turf.
